A total of 24 young people (15 girls and 9 boys) from 8 YSDK assisted villages in Siding District, especially Sungkung Complex and its surroundings who are studying at several universities in Pontianak actively participated in a discussion about Youth Love a Resilient, Climate-Friendly and Gender-Friendly Village at a cafe in Pontianak and facilitated by the "Youth, Equality and Gender Justice YSDK" division on May 30, 2024. According to Mrs. Kiki and Mrs. Shendy from YSDK, this activity is one form of YSDK's approach, namely from the beginning inviting and providing space for young people to exchange ideas and provide opinions, creative ideas in order to improve the development of their villages while also providing motivation so that they return to their villages after completing their education with the provisions they get from campus or from activities outside campus. These young people hope that similar activities can be facilitated more often by YSDK because it will increase or improve their knowledge and understanding of a resilient, climate-friendly, gender-friendly village while also being a motivator to do something for their villages to be more advanced. Meanwhile, Mr. Kevin from YSDK stated that YSDK is ready to facilitate similar activities so that these young people are more prepared and confident when becoming village development activists according to their respective fields of interest.
