Gender Forum: Evaluation and Strengthening of Gender Strategic Needs (KBSG) Proposals

On June 28โ€“29, 2025, at the Siding Subdistrict Office Hall, Bengkayang Regency, a Gender Forum was held as a platform to evaluate and strengthen the proposed Gender Strategic Needs (KBSG), which were previously formulated through the 2024 Womenโ€™s Dialogue Forum. This agenda serves as an important step in ensuring the continuity of advocacy efforts grounded in womenโ€™s lived experiences and needs at the village level.
ย
This activity not only focused on reflecting upon the progress achieved, but also encouraged concrete action through the development of KBSG proposal documents that are ready to be submitted in the next village development planning cycle. The forum served as a strategic platform to strengthen the capacity of gender focal points at the village level, enabling them to be more confident and actively advocate for community needsโ€”particularly within village deliberation forums.

ย

The Womenโ€™s Dialogue held last year successfully formulated a number of key proposals by engaging diverse participant groups, including vulnerable groups such as persons with disabilities, survivors of violence, and women from priority villages in the border area. This effort demonstrates a strong commitment to ensuring that village development progresses in a more inclusive and gender-responsive manner.
ย
It is expected that the gender focal points involved in this forum will gain greater recognition from village governments and be able to push for the integration of KBSG proposals into the 2026 Village Budget (APBDes). The focus area of this forum includes seven villages in Siding Subdistrict: Hli Buei, Siding, Tangguh, Tamong, Sungkung I, Sungkung II, and Tawang.
ย
Let us continue to advocate for the realization of villages that are resilient, inclusive, and responsive to the rights of women and childrenโ€”reflecting our shared commitment to advancing social justice from the grassroots.
